Tour Description

The Gleneagles and St Andrews Experience lets you play both classic inland and classic links courses. Enjoy the magic of the Gleneagles and St Andrews Courses. The James Braid designed Kings Course at Gleneagles – one of his finest designs. Play the Open venues of the Old Course and Carnoustie and follow in the footsteps of legends. The more modern yet classic Kingsbarns Links is a masterpiece. With the addition of some sightseeing this tour offers you a true Scottish journey. Both hotels offer additional activities and specialist whisky tastings.

                    The Gleneagles and St Andrews Experience is a mix of classic Scottish Links and Inland golf.

Day 1

  • Arrive at Edinburgh airport.
  • Transfer to the luxury 5 star Gleneagles Hotel. Set in 850 acres of Perthshire countryside, Gleneagles Hotel is home to the famous Kings and Queens golf courses and is the venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup.
  • On arrival at Gleneagle Hotel you will check in for 3 night’s bed & full Scottish breakfast
  • Evening dinner can be enjoyed from a choice of 4 restaurants, amongst which are the two Michelin-starred Andrew Fairlie restaurant – where French cuisine is given a Scottish twist – and the award winning two rosette Strathearn restaurant which, in addition to its stylish food, provides magnificent views across the estate.

Day 2

  • Enjoy your first round of golf at Gleneagles on the famous Kings Course. The course, which was designed by James Braid and is home to many championship events, was described by Lee Trevino “If Heaven is as good as this, I sure hope they have some tee times left”.
  • After lunch in the Dormy Clubhouse, you will enjoy a visit to the Famous Grouse Whisky distillery where you will receive a guided tour and an opportunity to sample Scotlands national drink.

Day 3

  • Enjoy your second round of golf at Gleneagles, which will be over the PGA course, the venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup match.
  • After lunch in the Dormy Clubhouse, you can indulge yourself in some of the many outdoor leisure activities available at Gleneagles or alternatively, you can relax in the ESPA Spa where a multitude of treatments are on offer.

Day 4

  • After breakfast you will be transferred to Edinburgh where you will visit the magnificent Edinburgh Castle: Perched on an extinct volcano, this instantly recognisable fortress is a powerful national symbol and part of Old and New Towns of Edinburgh World Heritage Site.
  • You will enjoy lunch in one of the Scottish capitals top restaurants, followed by either some retail therapy or a memorable visit to The Scotch Whisky Experience for a full tour and tasting.
  • Late afternoon, you will be transferred to the Old Course Hotel where you will check in for 5 night’s bed & full Scottish breakfast

Day 5

  • Enjoy a round of golf on the Carnoustie Championship course, home to 7 Open championships: The course which is currently in the finest condition it has ever been – not only offers the ultimate challenge to every golfer but it provides a playing quality which is second to none.
  • After lunch you will be transferred back to St. Andrews where you are free to shop or relax and unwind at the Kohler Waters Spa at the Old Course Hotel – the first KOHLER spa experience outside the USA.

Day 6

  • Start your St. Andrews golf experience with a round of golf over the New Jubilee or Castle course. The New Course is a classic links course and is often regarded as the oldest “new” course in the world, having been set out in 1895 by Old Tom Morris. The Jubilee Course meanwhile has developed from a basic 12-hole layout into what many consider to be the toughest test of golf at St Andrews. The Castle Course is the newest addition to the St Andrews Links portfolio and offers spectacular views over St Andrews
  • Following lunch in the Links Clubhouse you will be taken to Glamis Castle, the ancestral home of the Earls of Strathmore for over 600 years. Glamis Castle is a living, breathing monument to Scottish hospitality; a place of enjoyment, reflection, laughter and wonder for all.
  • Depending on numbers you may have the opportunity to enjoy evening dinner in the Victorian family dining room.

Day 7

  • After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kingsbarns Golf Club for day 2 of your St. Andrews golfing experience. From the moment you arrive at Kingsbarns, you know youre somewhere special. Kyle Phillips designed this Top 100 Ranked golf course and it is set in an amphitheatre along the coast, meaning that nearly every hole boasts spectacular views of the North Sea.
  • In the evening, you may choose to enjoy dinner in one of many restaurants in St. Andrews.

Day 8

  • Today brings you the moment you have been waiting for the moment when you step onto the 1st tee of the world famous St. Andrews Old Course, known as the traditional home of golf. Victory anywhere is always sweet, but to win at St. Andrews is so special it rises above everything else The Old Course, as described by Seve Ballesteros, after winning the Open at St. Andrews in 1984.
  • To end a perfect day of golf at St. Andrews, enjoy evening dinner in the Road Hole restaurant overlooking the famous Old Course.

Day 9

  • Departure day and transfer to Edinburgh airport.
