The Old Course St. Andrews is undoubtedly Scotlands most famous golf course. Renowned as the home of golf, it is a must-visit destination for the avid golfer.
As one of the Tour Operators given the “Authorised Provider” status by the St. Andrews Links Trust, Platinum Golf Scotland have access to Gauranteed Old Course Tee Times. Our Old Course tee times are sold as part of fully inclusive packages with a minimum 5 night stay. In addition, guaranteed Old Course Tee Times include 1 round over one of the Jubilee, New or Castle courses.
Demand for the “St. Andrews Old Course” is always extremely high. If you are thinking about a trip to play the Old Course in 2020 we would encourage you to register your interest as early as possible.
Our Old Course packages are for a minimum of 4 golfers and we can cater for groups of 8 and 12. If you are thinking about coming in 2020 please provide us with your preferred month of play, how many in your group, and we will prioritise your request in accordance with our availability.
When considering your itinerary, please tell us other courses you would like to play. You may wish to choose the St. Andrews area only, in which case we would recommend the Castle Course, Kingsbarns and Crail. Consider playing other Open venues, for example, Carnoustie, Muirfield, Troon and Turnberry.
We would strongly recommend any itinerary should consider the Highlands of Scotland with courses as good as any – Royal Dornoch, Castle Stuart, The Nairn, Tain and Brora along with two classic “Hidden Gems” – Fortrose & Rosemarkie and although not a links course, Boat of Garten, regarded by many as Scotland’s “Hidden Gem”.
Whatever you choose we can also include sightseeing and VIP whisky tours to give a true Scottish Experience.
Due to annual commitments, the Old Course in August is an extremely busy month. Similarly, September is heavily committed to competitions and as a result very few advanced bookings are accepted.
The daily ballot is a lottery style ballot. A minimum of two golfers must enter their names, their home clubs and handicaps 2 days before they wish to play. The ballot draw takes place every day of the week with the exception of Friday as there is no play on the Old Course on Sundays.
If your preference is to try the ballot system, we are more than happy to coordinate this on your behalf.
*Please note the handicap allowances are Maximum 24 for males and 36 for females.
