Tour Description

The Southwest and Islands Links Experience takes you on a Scottish Golf Links & Whisky journey. Play two of Scotland’s Open venues, The Ailsa Course at Turnberry and Royal Troon. Play and a few more of Scotland’s historic links courses – Machrihanish and The Machrie.  Shiskine on Arran is a 12 hole masterpiece of fun. In addition this trip will also let you experience some amazing scenery and sample a few of Scotland’s finest whiskies. This tour visits the islands of Arran and Islay home to the “Peaty Monsters”.

The Southwest and Islands Links Experience is a perfect mix of golf and whisky plus some of Scotland’s finest hospitality.

Day 1

  • From Glasgow airport, you will be transferred to the 5 star Turnberry Resort.
  • The Turnberry Resort is one of the most popular golf resort hotels in Scotland and enjoys a spectacular coastal setting with breathtaking views of the Isle of Arran, Ailsa Craig and the Irish Sea
  • Upon arrival at the hotel check i for your stay
  • In the evening, you may dine in any one of the hotels fine restaurants.

Day 2

  • Play 1 round of golf over the Famous Open venue, the Ailsa Course which has hosted four Open Championships
  • Enjoy the rest of the day using the hotels facilities

Day 3

  • Check out of Turnberry and transfer to Royal Troon, host to nine Open Championships, for 1 round of golf over this famous Links Course
  • After the golf transfer by car ferry to the Isle of Arran for 1 night at the Auchrannie Resort

Day 4

  • Transfer to the amazing 12 hole Shiskine Golf Course for 1 round of golf – this is without doubt one of Scotland’s “links gems” and pure fun
  • Following the golf a short car ferry trip and onto Machrihanish to the Ugadale Hotel for 2 night’s

 

Day 5

  • 1 round of golf over one of Scotland’s truly great links courses, Machrihanish, designed in part by Old Tom Morris
  • In the afternoon visit the Springbank Whisky Distillery for a tour and a “wee dram” tasting

Day 6

  • 1 round of golf over Machrihanish Dunes a golf course designed to feel how golf was first played
  • Take the afternoon car ferry to the Whisky Isle – Islay, home to nine whisky distilleries but also home to The Machrie, another of Scotland’s classic links courses.
  • Check into the newly opened Machire Hotel

Day 7

  • Enjoy 1 round of golf over the Machrie Golf Course overlooking the beautiful Laggan Bay – this is as good as it gets
  • In the afternoon enjoy a “whisky learning journey” and visit some of the Islands “Peaty Monster Whisky Distilleries” before heading back to the hotel

Day 8

  • Car ferry back to the mainland and a scenic drive back to Glasgow Airport for departure
